Two rape cases hit Brikama Court

Muhammed Saidy, a native of Sambuya Village, Kombo South, was on Thursday, arraigned before Magistrate EF Mbye of the Brikama Magistrate’s Court, for raping a 13-year-old teenage girl at the village.

The accused pleaded not guilty, when the charge sheet was read to him, before the case was adjourned to Wednesday, March 21, for continuation.

At the court, Magistrate Mbye, ruled that the accused shall remain in custody, pending the outcome of the case. Prosecutor Corporal 935 Jammeh represented the IGP.

In a separate case, one Max Priarra, was arraigned at the same court for allegedly raping one Fatou Saidy, aged, 18.

This incident occurred on February 14 this year, at Brikama in Western Region.

Mr. Priarra pleaded not guilty, when the charge sheet was read to him, and consequently Magistrate Mbye, ruled that the accused shall also remain in custody, pending the outcome of the case. He then adjourned the case to Wednesday, March 21, for continuation.
