Magistrate EF Mbye of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court yesterday adjourned the rape case involving Muhammed Saidy of Sambuya village, Kombo South. Muhammed Saidy was alleged to raped a 13 year old girl, name withheld.
This case was adjourned due to the sudden death of Ousman Sanneh, Deputy Inspector General of The Gambia Police Force, which was revealed to the court by the police prosecutor, Corporal 635 Jammeh, who represented the IGP in the case.
However, the case was adjourned to Wednesday 25th April.
In a related case issue, Magistrate Mbye also adjourned the rape case of Max Prierra as a result of the same reason.
