African Muslim Agency visits Islamic Schools

Ahmed Sabally, Director of African Muslim Agency, Gambia office with a high powered delegation recently paid a courtesy call on the Brikama-Ba Islamic members in Central River Region, South.

Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Sabally revealed that, the purpose of the visit was to meet his working mates and discuss with them some of their achievements and constraints. He then called on the Muslim Ummah to stand firm in support of Islam, adding that they should be aware of the problems faced by Muslims.

For his part, Kara-Musa Drammeh, chairperson of Brikama-Ba Islamic School dwelt on the importance of completing the Arabic school. He then appealed to Mr Sabally to come to their aid in the provision of standard classrooms for students.

Lamin Jabbie, a teacher in the school said the school needs a lot of materials. He added that the staff are purely doing voluntary works for the benefit of the community.

Mr Jabbie then urged the Muslim Agency, government, NGOs and even individuals to help them develop their Islamic School and also create attractive salaries for them.

Cherno Musa Jallow also assured the Agency that if the school is improved and the students rate is high, it will be of importance to the people.

“The only way that the students can be controlled in the school is to provide them with all what they may need at school level,” he said.

Other speakers at the occasion included Sulayman Masanneh Drammeh, President of Al-Madinah Foundation for Education and Relief in The Gambia, Sana Saidy and Yankuba Fatty of Brikama-Ba Disilameh.
