Dutch man in court for breach of contract

Karl Heinz Kloss, a German philanthropist was last Friday arraigned before Magistrate Edrissa Mbai, of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, for breach of contract.
 
The case was filed by Lamin Mboge Sowe, a student of the University of The Gambia and a resident of Farato village, Kombo south. The accused is alleged to have received over £10,000 in Germany bearing Mr. Sowe’s name to settle his Diploma Programme course of which Karl Heinz Kloss, failed to do so.

According to the particulars of the claim, Lamin Mboge Sowe is claiming the 10,350 pounds, being fee for his Diploma Programme course, £380 as air-ticket and £85 for student visa.

However, when the claims were read to Karl Heinz Kloss, he could not understand it due to language barrier. Therefore, the  case could not proceed on that day and the defendant could not take his plea.

The case was then adjourned to 4th June, 2007, in order for the court to get an interpreter in Karl Heinz Kloss language before the next adjourned day.
