Brikama to get a fish market

Sereign Momodou Joof, the Public Relations Officer of Brikama Area Council (BAC) has disclosed that his council, in collaboration with the Department of State for Fisheries and Water resources has received a grant from the Japanese government for the building of a fish market in Brikama.

Speaking to the the Daily Observer recently, Mr. Joof said that his council is deeply concerned with the issue. He said the project will greatly help fishmongers by providing them with a cold storage facility to enable them keep their fish for longer hours.

According to him, his council is expecting a batch of Japanese experts to implement some technical works prior to the actual implementation of the project.

Mr. Joof added that before the arrival of the Japanese there will be a stakeholders meeting which will look at issues that need to be put in place before the start of the project.
