Magistrate Ayoub John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, ordered one Lamin Manneh and Buba Saidy, both natives of Kafuta Village to maintain the peace with polite behaviours for the period of six months. The duo were found guilty of theft of properties estimated to D8000, at the Kafuta forest park, Kombo East.

Handing down his verdit before a crowded court, Magistrate Njie said the duo were first time offenders and that they were at a tender age to impose a costodial sentence on them. He told them that he would hang their costodial sentences but ordered them to maintain the peace for the period of six months plus D1000 fine each in default they would be locked up.

“Take this as your luck, but in the next six  months, even if you pinch someone without his/her consent, you will be sent to jail”, Magistrate Njie  warned them.

However, the two boys became lucky when Lamin Gassama, chairperson of Western Region youth committee, promised to provide the court with a registeration form for the two boys to do a  professional training at the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSS).
