10 youths from the newly initiated radio station in Bwiam in the Western Region are involved in a 10-day training workshop in broadcasting skills.
The training is being held at Kerewan Community Radio Station in the North Bank Region.
The training programme was organised by Saint Joseph Farm in Bwiam in conjunction with Concern Universal.
Speaking at the opening ceremony Bai Jabay, a representative from Concern Universal, said the training was organised to equip participants with modern skills through the use of the most up to date teaching methods. The skills to be taught include editing and programme presentation. He also appealed to participants to take the training seriously.
He revealed that the radio station was initiated to educate and to promote business in the area.
For his part, the manager of Concern Universal radio station Bwiam Mr. Yaya Colley expressed optimism that the students would perform exceptionally and attain all their dreams and aspirations.
Other speakers included Mr. Lamin Ceesay the manager of Kerewan Radio station, who thanked Concern Universal and Saint Joseph Farm for organising the training.
