Wednesday, July 18, 2007

The French Charge D’ Affaires, Francois Morel has disclosed that a French Naval Ship, The Frigate Lieutenant De Vaisseau la Vallee, will pay a visit to the Gambia next month during which they would play an international Football match with men of Brigadier General Lang Tombong Tamba.

Mr. Morel made this revelation last Saturday during a cocktail hosted as part of the France National Day at his residence in Cape Point.

He added that after the match the crew would spend some time in the Gambia as guests of Chief of Defense Staff Brigadier General Lang Tombong Tamba.

Mr. Morel used the opportunity to thank the Gambia U-20 team for their wonderful performance in the World Youth Championship currently underway in Canada.

“Despite the size of the country, the youth scorpions have shown a spirit of fighting and sting,” he concluded.
