Gambia Hosts Golf Competition

One of the biggest golf competitions will be held on Saturday March 15, 2008 at the Fajara Club and Kombo Beach Hotel grounds.

The matches will be played by members and guests alike from all parts of the country as well as the tourist industry.

Jointly sponsored by the Kombo Beach Hotel in Kotu, Brussels Airline and JP Chenet, the top prizes are a mouthwatering 2 return tickets on Brussels Airlines to any of their destinations in Europe. 

The competition will be a 2day affair and the sponsors will be looking towards finding the best overall golfer in The Gambia. 

According to the organisers, the tourist industry gave a huge boost to the Fajara Club and Golf in The Gambia by announcing a top flight competition in which about D150,000 worth of prizes will be presented to winners.     

There will be over 50 other prizes donated by JP Chenet and many trophies and memorabilia.  The main ‘Belgian Trophy’ is a superb replica style copy of the British Open claret jug.

The competition will wrap up on Sunday the 17th of March 2008, and is expected to culminate with around 200 guests who will be entertained at a buffet and prize giving in the KomboBeach Hotel.
