The people of Jalambantang village in Kombo Central District, Western Region, have lauded the efforts of the NAM for Jeshwang Constituency, Hon. Haddy Nyang-Jagne, and Bruce Mclellan, a British philanthropist, for providing assistance to the village’s nursery school, over the past two years.
According to them, the assistance has enabled them to fence the school, build a kitchen and provide clean and hygienic drinking water for its pupils. To them, the assistance has gone a long way in alleviating the problem of the school and this, they said, has impacted positively on the learning environment.
“We cannot say anything else except to thank Hon Nyang-Jagne and her British friend, for the assistance .But we still need more assistance to cater for the salaries of the teachers as currently many of the good teachers are leaving”, they said.
According to Haddy Nyang-Jagne, this assistance started well before she became a member of the National Assembly. “As an educationist”, she said, ”I believe that education holds the key to a brighter future, and helping nursery schools will set a good foundation for children in their school career. I will continue assisting the school anytime I get the resources,” she concluded.
