Aji Ndey Faye of Pipeline, who on Monday testified before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court told the court that her son Nuru Adams, has threatened to kill her.

In her testimony, Aji Ndey Faye further testified that the whole incident happened on the 23rd September, 2007, at her home in Pipeline. 

According to her, Nuru Adams gave her D60,000 for safe-keeping. “But from time to time, he will come and collect some amount of money from me.  It then went to a point when I was only left with D30,000,” she told the court. 

She added that one Monday, her son came and told her to give him D6,000, which the accused’s younger sister in the UK, Fane Adams sent for her (Aji Ndey Faye). “I gave the money to the accused,” she testified. 

She added that after Nuru Adams collected the D6,000, and did not spend the night in the house on the very day. But, on the following day, which was on a Tuesday, the son came back to the house and demanded for more money, otherwise she would be killed.

According to her, she told Nuru Adams that she doesn’t have money at that time, because her younger sister in the UK did not send anything at the time.

“My son then broke my door and entered my bedroom and damaged my wardrobe, took away most of my valuable materials like batik dress, two phones, three new pairs of shoes and two gas bottles away,” she told the court.
Aji Ndey Faye continued that since then, Nuru Adams has threatened to kill her.  “Her sister in the UK even told him to leave me alone and that she is going to pay the balance of D24,000. He insisted and since then he continues to threaten to kill me,” she said.
She said the matter was then reported to the Kairaba Police  Station, and her son was later arrested.

Meanwhile, Nuru is ordered to be remanded in custody, at Mile II Central Prison, until the outcome of the case.
