Principal Magistrate, Moses Richard of the Kanifing Magistrate Court, on Tuesday May 22, 2007, remanded one Chinu Bantas, a Guinean national for allegedly attempting to kidnap a child (name withheld) and residing in the country for the past 9 years without legal authority to stay.

According to the charge sheet, the accused is said to have attempted to kidnap the child of Ebrima Tarawally and Kaddy Manneh, early this month in Kanifing Housing Estate.

The charge further stated that Chinu Bantas was intercepted in Kanifing being non-Gambian resident in Old Jeshwang without residential permit.
