Senior magistrate Buba Jawo of Kanifing Magistrates Court has advised tenants to always exercise maturity in dealing with family feuds involving their children.
Magistrate Jawo gave this advice on Monday, while presiding over a civil case filed by one Alieu Jallow, an Oustass (Arabic teacher) against the family of Isatou Darboe, for alleged insult, foul language and breach of peace, at a compound in Latrikunda, Serrekunda.
Reviewing the particulars of the case, Magistrate Jawo warned troublemakers between families, reminding them that even if they escape the consequences of their ill-intentions, they can never escape the flawless justice of God. He stressed the importance of family peace in maintaining a peaceful society.
He also told the parties to the case to accept that it’s God who brought them together as tenants in the same compound and therefore they should show respect for each other and behave like mature adults when gripped by problems involving their children.
“Cases such as this are always a problem, because they bring enmity between families. But since the case has been brought before me, I can do nothing, but proceed on it,” he said.
