Paul Put signing delayed

Tuesday, May 20, 2008
The Gambia Football Association will unveil Belgian Paul Put as Scorpions coach today at a signing ceremony to be held at President Jammeh Joint Officers’ Mess at Kotu at 14.00 hours.

The official signing, which was earlier scheduled for Monday, could not proceed owing to the absence of the GFA president Seedy Kinteh, who was out of town on an official mission.

Kinteh is expected to arrive today to preside over the signing ceremony.

The 52-year-old Belgian will take over the mantle, having less than two weeks to prepare the Scorpions for their trip to Liberia for the Group Six opener in the 2010 World Cup qualifier that doubles as qualifier for Angola 2010 Nations Cup finals. The Scorpions will also face Senegal and Algeria in their quest for a place in the 2010 finals.
