A group of armed robbers on Monday, June 18th in the wee hours of 3 am attacked Honourable Dawda Manneh, the National Assembly Member for Nianija at his Wellinghara Kunkujang Borehole residence.
Narrating how the incident happened to the Daily Observer, Hon Manneh stated that when the robbers arrived at the stated time, they opened his window, but could not enter because of the buckler-proof. “They then used their metal tools and later succeeded in damaging the door. I was all along waiting anxiously. So, when they opened the door, I ran towards them with a cutlass for self-defence. They then took to their heels and boarded their vehicle,” he explained.

According to him, because the place was dark, he was unable to see the number plate of the vehicle. “I then tried to call the Police Station, but to no avail. They did not respond to my call until I had to contact Keluntang Colley, deputy Mayor of KMC, who then contacted the Brikama Police Station. The Brikama Police were on their way to the scene, when they called to say that they had a breakdown at Farato and could not make it,” he concluded.
