The Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) yesterday presented a cheque for two hundred and sixty four thousand dalasis to Manjai Kunda ward as part of efforts to help the area get an electricity boost.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at KMC head office along Mamaniyang highway, the Interim Chairman of KMC, Gibou Janneh, said the sum is for the extension of the electricity supply to some parts of Manjai Kunda Ward.

He revealed that KMC is always ready to support people in the region whenever the need arises, adding that electricity is a prerequisite for sustainable development.

Receiving the cheque, the Ward Councilor, Manjai Kunda Ward, Mr Momodou Sidibeh, commended KMC for the support extended to his Ward, and gave assurances that the money would be put to good use.
