Brutal assailant convicted

Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh of the Kanifing Magistrates Court on Wednesday convicted and sentenced Ismaila Mboob, a resident of Manjai Kunda to a fine of D500, in default to serve three months in jail. Ismaila Mboob was found guilty of assaulting one Ebrima Cham, whom he stabbed with a broken bottle on November 4. The presiding Magistrate also ordered him to pay a compensation of D1,500 to his victim or in default to serve another three months in jail. Both sentences would run consecutively. Sergeant 870 Touray represented the IGP in the trial. Source: The Point
