Following a breakthrough in President Yahya Jammeh’s cure of HIV/Aids, more Hiv patients yesterday stormed Serrekunda Hospital for registration.

At least 87 patients have voluntarily registered to undergo the traditional treatment of President Jammeh. Blood samples, viral loads and the CD4 of the patients were taken in order to rule out tuberculosis.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the registration exercise, Dr Tamsir Mbowe, Secretary of State for Health and Social Welfare, said the large turn out of patients is an indication that people have confidence in the treatment. He added that the large turn out of patients for the VCT, is also a deterant for the spread of HIV /Aids. This, according to Dr Mbowe, will stem the level of HIV drop.

“The success of President Jammeh’s treatment is known to all by now. I must also warn that people should not misbehave any how they wish because there is a cure and it is free,” he concluded.
