GNL pays lucky winner

The Gambia National Lottery (GNL) last Friday, presented a cheque for D121,300 to Amadou Mbenga, of Serrekunda as the winner of the company’s quinte jackpot at its headquarters in Banjul.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Fabakary Jammeh Marketing Manager, Gambia National Lottery said his company is always pleased when a winner is paid.

He added that, the company will continue to appreciate the patronage of the customers and therefore called on the people to continue playing the lottery. Mr. Jammeh further said that his company will play its part in national development by creating employment avenues for the youths.
“Education, health and poverty alleviation are our top priority”, he said.

Mr. Jammeh finally thanked the media fraternity for their continued support to GNL.

Malick Jones, a consultant to GNL commended the company for their invaluable support and contribution to national development. He also revealed that very soon, the company will make known to the public how much its contribution would be on the road to Canada 2007.
Amadou Marenah, Chief Accountant of the company, presented the cheque to Amadou Mbenga, the lucky winner of the day.

In a similar development, a cheque of D8,500 was also presented to Albion Lower Basic School in Banjul.  The cheque is meant for the school’s annual speech and prize giving ceremony.

Paul Mendy, Acting Deputy Headmaster of the school received the cheque on behalf of the school.
