Accused escapes from court

One Tijan Janha, an accused person from Tallinding, yesterday walked out of court unnoticed as the presiding Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh adjourned his case to 3rd July, 2007.

Tijan, who is charged with violence, contrary to section 84 of the constitution was supposed to be remanded at Mile Two, until the next hearing. Unfortunately for the prosecutors, the accused walked out of the court premises and up to the time of going to press, was still at large. 

The particulars of the offence stated that on or about 17th April, 2007, in Tallinding, the accused Tijan Janha threatened to kill one Aji Nafie Lowe, with a knife. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
