Kabokorr, Foni Bintang District, Western Region, recently got a new market. The new market was funded by Concern Universal and Saint Joseph Family Farm at a cost of two hundred thousand dalasis.
It was constructed under the Disaster Risk Reduction Project.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Marcel Badjie, director of the Saint Joseph Family Farm Centre commended the villagers for their commitment towards the successful completion of the market.
He highlighted the significance of the market to the village and the surrounding communities noting that it will go a long way in helping to reduce the burden of the people.
Ebou Faye Njie, project manager of the Disaster Risk Reduction project, also applauded the efforts of the beneficiaries in the construction of the market. Mr Faye Njie urged them to immediately set up a committee that will steer the affairs of the market, in order to avoid any misconduct.
The councillor of Sibanorr Ward, Sutay Jarju, also described the availability of markets as very significant to the villagers of Kabokorr.
