In an effort to drum up financial support for President Jammeh’s HIV and AIDS trust fund Sound City, a music promotion company, has concluded all arrangements to host a ground breaking musical concert entitled Goudi Ndanaan on Saturday 24 November at the Senegambia Beach Hotel.
The much awaited event will feature big time artists from Senegal and The Gambia including, Thione Seck, Baba Maal, Musa Afia Ngum, Mam Tamsir Njie, Kabaakel and Baityai.
Speaking to The Point, the general coordinator of the event, Mr Mabou Touray said the night will see renowned musicians joining forces on the same stage ensuring an electrifying experience for all who attend. He added that dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to grace the event noting that the night will provide an eye-opening cultural manifestation and a real gastronomic experience.
For his part, Mr Baboucarr Jatta, a member of the organizing committee, urged all and sundry to take advantage of the opportunity accorded them by sound City by attending.
“The night is geared towards celebrating the rich, authentic African cultural heritage. There will be folklore music throughout the night to entertain the assembled guests,” he added.
Meanwhile, a Gambian born and Norway based music promoter, DJ Little Sisco, who will be master of ceremonies, has already arrived in the country and is ready to make the night what it should be – Earth-shaking.
