Alex Dacosta, ex-Communications Officer of the Medical Research Council (MRC), and also an executive member of the Gambia Press Union, has been appointed as the Director of Press and Public Relations, Office of the President, the Daily Observer can reveal.

Mr Dacosta replaces Ebrima JT Kujabi, who has been undergoing a course in America for almost a month now. Mr Dacosta, a holder of a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, had been serving as the Protocol Officer to ex-President, Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, and has served in various institutions prior to his appointment.
