The Regional Agricultural Co-ordinator for CRR north, Alh Banty Jaiteh, has said the area is expecting a bumper harvest this season.
Speaking to the Daily Observer in an interview last Sunday, Mr Jaiteh said leguminous crops, findi and the newly introduced rice variety called Nerica amongst others grew well to their expectation.
He said most of the farmers succeeded as a result of their intensive training on proper methods of farming such as timely planting of crops, proper fertiliser application among.
According to him, extension workers have always been monitoring and giving technical advice to farmers geared towards good production.
Mr Jaiteh then disclosed that mix farming centres have now been built in the area to provide extension services all geared towards improving the knowledge of the farming community.
