Illegal dumping of syringes at Bond Road

Tuesday, November 28, 2006
Unauthorised disposal of syringes near an old building, along Bond Road have been recently discovered, the Daily Observer can confirm.

The discovery has sent waves of concerns and speculations about the illegal disposal of medical wastes, which pose a threat to the environment and the gains registered by the health sector over the years.

Most of the speculations hold that the syringes “must have been” dumped at the location by anonymous pharmaceutical stores in the country, while others pointed fingers at the clinics.

Yet other speculations are that the syringes could have been disposed of by “junkies”, apparently those addicted to the use of illegal drugs, especially concaine and heroine.
