According to official sources, the two Permanent Secretaries of the Department of State for Agriculture were sacked on Wednesday, 13 December.

The two are Dr Badara Loum and Mr Suruwa Jaiteh.

No reason has so far been disclosed to this paper for the dismissals but the sources added that the two officials have been invited for questioning by state security agents.

In a separate development, Lt Alhagie Sanneh has been appointed as Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Gambia National Army. He replaces Capt. Gano, who is now Aide de Camp (ADC) to the president.
