The Al-Ahmar Group, a business chain of twelve companies, is showing no sign of slowing down in responding to its social and corporate obligations.
As part of saying ‘Thank You ’ for your excellent performances in the previous soccer campaigns as well as giving the Gambia’s U-20 a morale boost in the up-coming 7th edition of the African Youth Championship in Congo Brazaville, the Al-Ahmar Group last Sunday threw a sumptuous luncheon for the feted national U-20 team at the exquisite Sultan Sweets along Kairaba Avenue.
According to the Proprietor and the Chief Executive Officer of the Al-Ahmar Group, Mr Muhammed Al-Ahmar, last Sunday’s lunch was not the first time that the Al-Ahmar Group was involved in sporting activities in the country. Mr Al-Ahmar, who was conferred with a national honour by President Jammeh last July, explained that it was an honour and pride for the Al-Ahmar Group to associate itself with the Gambia national U-20 side.
“The lunch was ultimately organised to tell the U-20 team that we at the Al-Ahmar Group are behind you at all times and circumstances,” he added.
Among those who partook in the lunch were the secretary of state for youth and sports, some senior officials of the national U-20 team, department of state for youth and sports and the health officer to the squad, Dr. Emad Atrees.
