Beyoncé and Jay-Z spent $40,000 on a chair on Friday night after falling in love with the piece during a private tour of a design exhibition. The celebrity couple was attending Design Miami, an event part of Art Basel Miami Beach, which features an exhibition of contemporary and modern art and furniture.

A source tells Star, "They were overheard talking about the various pieces of art, and where they would fit it in their homes, and what would look best and where. Their tour lasted for over an hour, and they held hands the entire time."

After checking out the exhibit the couple decided to purchase a white crochet chair by Dutch contemporary designer Marcel Wanders - despite its price tag.
