Gambian Delegation to Senegambia Tourism Fair Returns

A 30-man delegation from The Gambia last week returned home after attending the first-ever tourism trade fair jointly organised by ASSET of The Gambia and ONITS of Senegal.

The fair ended with an optimistic resolution by both countries to share existing efforts for integration in commerce and trade and free movement of people, goods and services within the West African sub – region.

Mr. Adama Bah, Chairman of ASSET, used the forum to enjoin tourism stakeholders in both countries to actively complement efforts to broaden the tourism market, improve quality standard and ensure rotational use of natural resources.

In the course of the event, fashion designers’ association of The Gambia and Senegal organised a fashion competition for which, various awards were given on fashion design and the best responsible tourism stand.

The Gambia fashion designers won one of the awards on best fashion design and the Gambia Solar claim the award for the best responsible tourism stand. There were also side events, which were mainly on responsible tourism and other issues revolving around the environment.
