Jammeh leaves for S/Leone

President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh yesterday left for Freetown, Sierra Leone, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of president elect, Ernest Bai Koroma, who was recently declared the winner of the just ended in September. The Gambian leader left Banjul International Airport with a high powered delegation for a two-day official visit to that country.

President Jammeh and his entourage were seen off by Vice President Dr Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy, members of the Cabinet, speaker of the National Assembly and other dignitaries.

During his visit, President Jammeh is expected to hold discussions with his Sierra Leonean counterpart on bilateral issues between the two countries.

The president and entourage are expected home on Friday, November 16.
