ASP Ebrima Jammeh, officer commanding at the Serious Crime Unit at the Gambia Police Force Headquarters, on Tuesday, concluded his testimony in the ongoing official corruption trial involving Lamin Mandas Fatty.

Testifying before Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, ASP Jammeh told the court that he came to know the accused some time ago when the accused was called into his office for investigation into alleged corruption.

He recalled that a cautionary statement was written by the accused in front of an independent witness and read to him, before both of them appended their signatures on the cautionary statement.

He identified the statement in question, which was then tendered and marked as an exhibit. Defence Counsel Lamin Jobarteh, raised no objection to the admission of the cautionary statement.

Mr Lamin Mandas Fatty is being tried on two counts of official corruption and neglect of duty at the Bundung Magistrates Court.

The proceedings of the case was then adjourned to December 17 for continuation. Lawyer AS Umar represented the state in the trial.
