Chemistry of Valentines

Wednesday, February 14, 2007
It was January, 2002. My best friend joined the science club in their campus. A very neat guy caught her attention. He looks very smart. He is Francis. It was the first time that a guy ignores her so she made an action. She was elected as the Project Officer of the said club and he was elected as her co-officer. He was elected on that position because before the nomination, many know that she likes him.
And they think that it would be a nice idea for them to share responsibility so they can know each other well and be good friends. But this guy is a snob. So when they have to hold a program-project, she called him but he didn’t come. So, she made the project alone.
When the day of the program came, officers of the club have to deliver speech. I spoke first. Her last words in her speech were, “Intelligence is nothing when you do not know how to be responsible.” And because many know that she’s annoyed and just insulting Francis but at the same time has a crush on him…they praised her and teased them. When Francis’ turn came to deliver his speech…he became speechless in front. Silence covered the campus. Even professors stopped their doings for a while just to listen for his speech. He just had a very short speech. And she can’t believe he said this, “I admit that I’ve been irresponsible with this project. How can I accomplish such project when love and career beat at the same time to the same person? Thaila, you taught me how to love.
When I first saw you, I knew that my heart beats for love. I know that my fulfillment is you! But I want you to know that while you were making this project, I did one also - Chemistry of Valentines! And it was approved already by the head of this club! Thanks for you. You’ve been my inspiration in this project.” And everybody yelled. She saw many took them pictures. Everybody was very happy because that would be the first time that the campus will hold program for the month of February. They’ve been very good friends. Until now, he courts my best friend.
