A quirky opera based on Jerry Springer's rough-and-ready TV talk show will make its debut in America this month after securing a run in Las Vegas.

The Olivier Award-winning musical was a smash hit in London when it opened in 2001; it will preview at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on March 17 and 18, as a benefit for HIV/AIDS charities.

Actor Artie Anderson will lead the cast, as Springer, while members of the casts of Vegas shows Mamma Mia and Phantom Of The Opera will play audience members and guests.
