Crispin Grey-Johnson, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, on Monday made a courtesy call on the University of The Gambia (UTG).
The visit of the Secretary of State who was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary , Dr. Saidou Jallow and Musa Sowe, Director of Tertiary Education was meant to get a first hand information about the university.
Secretary of State Crispin Grey Johnson was received on arrival at the university by Professor Andreas Steigan, the Vice Chancellor and accademic staff.
The new SoS was briefed on the overview of the university’s administrative structure, integration of institutions, operational responsibilities of the chairs and other key issues, including budget constraints of the UTG. He was informed on the new courses, capacity building, the Access Programme, university linkages and other administrative responsibilities.
The Secretary of State Crispin Grey Johnson at the end of his visit expressed delight on the operation of the University.
According to reports, SoS Grey Johnson made a strong commitment to work with the university team to attain President Yahya Jammeh’s vision of making UTG an outstanding international university.
