Bollywood film fans have been banned from the three-day wedding of stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan which begins on Wednesday. The couple will marry in a modest ceremony at the Bachchan family home in Mumbai, India, but security has been stepped up to prevent gatecrashers.

Fire services will also be on standby to extinguish crazed fans who try to perform Hindu fire ceremonies. Actor Suniel Shetty, who will be attending the ceremonies says, "The Bachchans have asked us to keep this wedding a private issue and therefore we are maintaining silence."

However, Mumbai newspapers claim Rai will be wearing jewelry specially brought from Kolkata city and silk saris from the city of Varanasi, in northern Uttar Pradesh state.
