Tallinding Home Red Cross Link (THRCL),on Friday April 13, concluded a seven-day training workshop on the basic first-aid and disaster preparedness at the Tallinding Central Primary School.
The training which brought together 35 volunteers was conducted by the Kanifing Municipal Branch and the National Society.
Welcoming participants at the training, Lamin K Saidy, the Link Leader told the gathering that the objective of the training was to equipped volunteers with basic knowledge in first-aid and disaster preparedness skills. He added that volunteers need to be fully equipped with the basic knowledge on disaster to effectively and efficiently respond to emergencies.
He then urged participants to make good use of the training.
For her part, Binta Jammeh Sidibeh, Executive Director of the Association for Promoting Girls and Women Advancement (APGWA), who doubles as the main sponsor of the training, challenged the trainees to make sufficient use of the training to help them serve and respond to calls from society. She commended the Link Leader for conducting the training.
Sainey Badjie, who deputised for the Alkalo of Tallinding and Lamin Marong who also deputised for the Chairman of KM branch and Principal of the school, attended the training.
