One of the leading Electronics Manufacturer in the World, Samsung Company Limited, has agreed to be the official sponsor of the 2007 popular May Day Sports.

According to the Executive Director of the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) George Gomez, the Managing Director of Samsung in South Korea would arrive in the Gambia on April 30th to witness this year’s May Day Sports activity.

Mr. Gomez added that to encourage people who always attend May Day Sports, they have decided that any body that buy a ticket on May Day would receive an official Samsung T. Shirt and would automatically have the right to participate in a grand raffle draw.

“In the raffle you can win good prizes ranging from Samsung Mobile Phones, DVD Players, and 21 inch Samsung Television and many other prizes,” he revealed.

Mr. Gomez pointed out that this year’s entrance fee has been reduced to D.10 for covered and uncovered pavilion while VIP is at D.50.

“We have scrapped out the Pillow Fight event and would be replaced by a Female Musical Chair on Bicycle,” Mr. Gomez concluded.
