Sainey Touray (Ballack) U-20’s New Striker

Sainey Touray, alias Ballack, is the 24th player of the Gambia National U-20 team paraded on Television for the Darling of the Fans Initiative.

He was the main man behind Serekunda East zonal team victory in the 2005/06 zonal championship resulting to his inclusion in the U-20 team to the just ended Suwon International Football Festival in South Korea.

He made his national debut on March 25th, 2007 against Chile National U-20 team at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in which the Gambia lost by 2-1 and came as a substitute two day later against Poland.

Born 8th February 1990, Ballack first played for then newly registered team in the Serekunda East Nawettan tournament Milan FC as team captain.

In 2003/04 he played for Tallinding United in the GFA second division league as the youngest striker.

Out of fourteen matches played in that season he scored ten goals and become the best player and the leading goal scorer of the GFA second division league in 2004/05 season.

Ballack then made a move to the first division by joining Wallidan in the 2005/06-league season were he started playing as the youngest striker.

“Despite having an injury when I join Wallidan I was able to play eight games and score two goals in the FA competition,” he told Pointsports.

Ballack scored seven goals in five matches in the GFA Zonal championship and was voted the best player of the tournament as well the best player in the Gambia in 2005/06 by the GFA President Mr Seedy MB Kinteh with a giant trophy and a goal medal.
