Born in Banjul this profiling athlete attended St. Joseph’s Primary and Crab Island Junior Secondary Schools before proceeding to St Joseph’s High School.

She was an active and excellent Netball player while in school.  In 1974 while at St. Joseph’s Junior Secondary School she was introduced to Basketball in 1975 she was admitted at St Joseph’s High School and was included in the School team immediately.  In 1979 she was selected in the National team for the Zone II Basketball tournament in Guinea Conakry.  She was an automatic choice in the National team for subsequent Zone II tournaments in Bamako, Mali, Dakar, Senegal.

She was a household name adored by the young girls whom she would gather to give instructions too and used most of the trophies and medals she won at competition to give to the young girls to whom she was an inspiration and role model .

Tonight this legend in Basketball Mrs. Elizabeth Bahoum is admitted in the Sports Merit List.
