Neneh Macdouall-Gaye, Secretary of State for Communications and Information Technology, will today launch the publicity campaign, following the decision by the organisers of the Miss Black USA Beauty Pageant to organise the 2007 edition in The Gambia.
The launching ceremony will take place at the luxurious five star Sheraton Gambia Hotel, Resort and Spa in Brufut Heights, on Monday at 1:00 pm. The event will attract media practitioners and artists, alongside other stakeholders.
It is the first time the beauty pageant is being organised outside the United State of America, after it was hosted on the US soil for the last 20 years.
Secretary of State Macdouall-Gaye, Chairperson of the Publicity Sub-committee of the National Organising Committee responsible for overseeing the hosting of the event, will spur media practitioners and artists to aggressively disseminate information on the beauty pageant and to inform the Gambian public to prepare for this major international event.
