After years of hard slug in the music arena, Gambia’s hip-hop and dancehall queen in the making, Nancy Nanz, is finally on the road to success as she is poised to outdoor her debut solo album in August.
Nancy Nanz has already got series of scintillating singles under her belt and her latest single entitled Jambar, an ode to President Jammeh for his breakthrough in the treatment of HIV/Aids, asthma and diabetic, is currently hitting the chat.
In an interview with this paper at her Pipeline residence, the diva said that her plans this year include releasing an album and setting up of her own band.
Nancy Nanz whose real name is Mammy Waggeh was born in Banjul on the 2nd October 1986 at the street called Tobacco Road. Her father is Ebou Waggeh a journalist who used to work at the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) and her mum is Ida Sosseh.
Nancy Nanz is believed to have inherited her great grand mothers musical talents, she love music when she was young going to school. Her favourite artist is Beyonce Knowles of Destiny’s Child. She like her so much so that she endeavoured to manifest like her at a time in dressing, dance and even tries to sing like her. This, no doubt, earned her the artistic moniker Gambian Beyonce.
