Thursday, May 24, 2007

Pierre LM Sarr, Consul for the Kingdom of Belgium has said that the Kingdom of Belgium has waived the transit (A) Visa for Gambian and Sierra Leonean Nationals travelling via Brussels to the USA, EU member states, Andorra, Canada, Japan, Monaco, San Marino and Switzerland. This new policy takes effect May 15, 2007.

Disclosing this to the Daily Observer, Mr Sarr reminded travellers to also note that travelling to these countries will still require the traveller to obtain destination visas in accordance with the laws of each country.

Mr. Sarr, who doubles as the Managing Director of Sangol Farms LTD, encouraged travellers to visit the Consulate if there are any difficulties and also noted that visa applications can be submitted and received in The Gambia, instead of Dakar.
He then thanked The Gambian government for their continued support to the Consulate of the Kingdom of Belgium.
