A Gambia Athletics team comprising of 16 athletes left the country earlier this morning for Guinea Bissau by road to participate in the African Solidarity games from the 2nd to the 3rd June 2007.
The championship, organized by the West African Region, would be held from June 2nd to 3rd, 2007.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Pointsport last evening, Dodou Capi Joof, secretary general of the Gambia Athletics Association (GAA), said that he would be coordinating the games to gather with Momodou Ndiaye from Senegal on behave of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF).
Mr. Joof revealed that the Gambian delegation will include Edirisa Chiko Njie as head of delegation, Bamba Njie, head coach and Sulayman Jobe as assistant coach and Abdoulie Kah.
