Drama unfolded at the Offices of Marimoo Sales Services, an agency that deals in Africell prepaid cards, as one of its drivers by the name Mamanding Fofana, allegedly disappeared with a bag containing over D172,000,  in a broad day light. According to Mariama Jallow, Sales Assistant at Marimoo, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon and the cash represents their weekend sales.

She revealed that while preparing her receipts, she sent the driver to put the empty scratch card boxes into the dustbin downstairs, but he (the driver) quietly snatched the bag containing the sum.

She added “After a while, I noticed that the bag was missing and I immediately rushed to look for the driver, but he was nowhere to be seen. I called on his cell-phone, but it was switched off. Later I was escorted by one of my staff to his family home at  Ebo Town, but we were told that  he has not been there for a week and then referred me to  his friend’s house in Jeshwang where he normally spends the night. We visited there the following day, but his friend told us that he left around midnight, claiming that he is transferring to New Yundum.”

According to Mariama, they did all they could to trace the driver, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, the case is now reported to Kairaba Police Station, and investigation is mounted to reach to the bottom of the matter.  For any information, simply phone: 7777090/7797200/7788040.
