US$16,000 cheque for DoSA

The Taiwanese Ambassador in The Gambia, Dr Patrick Chang, yesterday presented a cheque for US$16,000,527, to the Secretary of State for Agriculture, Kanja Sanneh, for the repair of tractors for the farming community in the country, at a ceremony held at DoSA.

In handing over the cheque to SoS Kanja Sanneh, Dr Patrick Chang said: “After a very careful calculation with the blessing of the President Dr Alagie Yahya AJJ Jammeh, they were able to present the cheque to DoSA”. He then noted that it will enable the country to attain food self-sufficiency.

Ambassador Chang added that the money will go a long way towards repairing the tractors for the farming community. He assured DoSA of his office continuous support and collaboration.

In receiving the cheque, the Secretary of State for Agriculture, Kanja Sanneh, said he is delighted on behalf of the President of the Republic, Dr Alhagie Yahya AJJ Jammeh, to receive the cheque, and then assured that the money will be put into its rightful purpose.

He further commended the Taiwanese Ambassador for his immeasurable assistance to the socio-economic development of the country.
