‘Taiwanese TTM achieved a lot’

James Tsay, Taiwanese Technical Training Mission Leader in the Gambia, has outlined the numerous success and improvement achieved by his technical team since their arrival in the country.

In an interview with the Daily Observer, Mr. James said the Taiwanese Training Mission was established in 1995. He added that the objectives of the team are to fight for the poverty reduction, food security and strategy enhancing rice production projects.

The team leader dwelled on the numerous in the production of varieties of rice in some of the major rice fields in the country such as in Sapu and Jahally.
 
According to him, the teams mission among others, include training on food processing, computer training that will enhance and equip farmers with basic knowledge of computing. He noted the project aim is mainly to support farmers who want to develop skills in fish reservation.
 
Mr. James said that Banjulinding, Lamin, Sukuta, Bakau and Ndeban are also benefiting from the teams technical assistance in horticultural gathering. He challenged Gambia farmers to work hard despite challenges.
