FROGS’ Success Stories in 2006-2007

Friends of The Gambian Schools, FROGS, a charity working towards the improvement of the welfare of teachers and students in The Gambia, has registered a monumental success in the 2006-2007 academic year, says a press release.

According to the news release signed by FROGS’ country director and issued to this paper this week, St. Therese’s Basic Cycle School at Fulabantang in CRR and Jeddah Lower Basic School were among the schools in the provinces that benefited from FROGS’ intervention.

“In Banjul, FROGS had helped introduce a school feeding programme in Muhammedan Lower Basic School. A similar project was replicated at Bijilo Lower Basic School. This was done after a refurbishment of the school’s disused kitchen. FROGS has also provided the school with cooking utensils and basic food items. Bijilo Lower Basic also benefited from padlocks and first aid box,” the release stated.

In other parts of The Gambia, the release went on, FROGS had extended a helping hand to Wijwand Nursery School in Tallinding and Killy Lower Basic School in Western Region, the release concluded.
