The members of the Kombo East Youth and Children Development Association (KEYCDA) over the week ended a five-day growth monitoring exercise in Kombo East.
The monitoring exercise which took a form of weight-for-age and length/height-for-age was convened within the sixteen clusters of Kuloro CCF programme site.
In an interview with the Daily Observer, the Secretary of Kombo East Children Committee Taslima Jallow, asserted that the monitoring will enable them to establish the nutritional status of children, under the ages of five. According to him, alongside the monitoring, parents are advised on child nutritions.
For his apart, Lamin Darboe, Coordinator of KEYCDA and the monitoring team head expounded that his organisation has been playing a pivotal role in the activities of CCF Kaira Nyining programme area, and then recommended that there are certain constraints that need to be improved, such as mobility, rain coats, scales or measurement boards and incentives.
Mr. Darboe concluded that similar activities will be conducted in other programmes of the district.
At the end of the programme, recommendations will be sent to Kaira Nyining for possible implementation.
