Cyprus club release Jatto Ceesay

Monday, September 10, 2007

Cyprus First Division Club, AEK Larnaca, have released Gambian international Jatto Ceesay, Observer Sports can reveal.

Jatto Ceesay, alongside his fellow Gambian forward Mustapha Kamal Ndaw and other senior players were released by Larnaca, just before the start of the 2007/08 Cyprus league season.

However, forward Mustapha Kamal Ndaw has since then, in summer period, signed up with Doxa Katokopias in the same league, while the former William II midfielder, Ceesay, is reported to be clubless.

Ceesay, who remains one of The Gambia’s most successful professional players, last appeared for the Scorpions during their grave 0-2 defeat to Syli Nationales in Banjul.

Since then the mid-fielder has failed to earn a call-up as Scorpions eye their first-ever Nations Cup finals in Ghana 2008.
