Vision Development Foundation (VDF) has on Wednesday donated sixty thousand bags of Omo and sugar to various health centres, women Kafoos and the needy in the communities in the country.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony Modou Turu Darboe, the Executive Director of Vision Development Foundation said since the inception of VDF they have committed themselves to their social responsibilities by providing the basic needs to improve the status of the people especially the needy ones.
He said the presentation is a series of presentation made by the foundation over the two months and that they are ever determined to do more. According to him, VDF would provide 620 kilos of detergent powder commonly called as ‘set-settal’ Omo, 200 kilos for Kanaila health centre, 100 kilos for Jammeh foundation for peace hospital, 100 kilos for Fajikunda health centre and 400 kilos for four different women groups.
“We are also giving out 150 bags of sugar to the needy people for the Ramadan,” he said. He further said that the donation was made possible through the philanthropist gesture of Joko Trading, one of the distributors of set-settal Omo in The Gambia.
He thanked them and urged others to follow their foot steps. He also thanked Momodou Salieu Jallow of the Fula enterprise for his kind gesture. “The donation would no doubt compliment President Jammeh efforts in clean the nation,” he added.
